ILOILO FEDERATION FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(I FIT)INC. Company Description

IFIT had its beginnings on March 2006 when the participants composed of heads of educational institutions, industry, and government, responded to the challenged posed by 'Answering the Call of Outsourcing', a forum organized by DTI-Iloilo. Since then, the visionary and enthusiastic leaders went through the process of focused group discussions and brainstorming sessions. The reason for this was to organize Iloilo's version of an academe-industry-government collaboration similar to Cebu Educational Foundation for Information Technology . This synergy also paved the way to the conduct of the 1st Iloilo IT Week last June 13-17, 2006.

IFIT has 20 founding members: eight (8) from the academe/training institutions, six(6) from the industry and business sector, and six (6) from the government sector. It had also laid out its plans for 2007-2009 to include extensive membership recruitment, establishment of an ICT training center, research study on the ICT human resource in region 6, participation in national and international expositions, offering of job matching services, faculty and student development programs, and ICT curriculum enrichment.
